Mark Withers

I have worked with opera companies across Europe and beyond, maximising participation by communities and growing links between professional artists and these communities. Projects embrace training and skills development for professionals as well as the creation and performance of new work.

Aims

I aim to make music and opera accessible to all areas of the community and to engage the widest possible public in a professional quality artistic experience.

A flagship project

‘1984-2024’ with the Passerelles team of the Festival d’Aix celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestre. Working with Violaine Fournier we devised a piece that took a group of young artists into diverse communities in the region.
