The Liceu’s Education Department has a staff of four, who are in charge of the Liceu’s children’s programme. Known as EL PETIT LICEU, the programme offers performances and other activities. More than 110 000 people were involved last season.
Other activities include, guided tours of the Liceu taking in both historical and artistic aspects of the theatre and showing students the distinctive features of the building. The programme also runs Opera at secondary school, which offers secondary school pupils the chance to see and experience opera from the inside by leaving the comfort of their seats to climb onto the stage and sing.
To enhance the experience of all visitors, the Liceu also offers a detailed didactical and interactive guide about each production -downloadable from the Liceu website. The Liceu’s children’s performances also tour throughout Spain and occasionally further afield.
