Reframing Opera: Rethinking the Operatic Canon
My work aims to rethink opera through repertoire analysis, historical context and programming practices. I explore new ways of understanding operatic works beyond conventional periodisation, connecting musicology, dramaturgy and cultural history with contemporary programming needs. The objective is to develop analytical tools that support interpretation, education and innovative approaches to opera.
My PhD thesis, La programación de ópera en España (1999-2019), develops new frameworks for understanding opera through repertoire, historical context and programming, connecting musicological analysis with contemporary operatic practice.
