Op.64 – SoloCanto

Participatory contemporary opera

Op.64 was founded in 2001 with the aim of promoting the approach of children to music through polyphonic singing. Since 2014, thanks to the meeting between the choir and orchestra director Pilar Bravo and the stage director Fred Santambrogio, SoloCanto became the first Contemporary Opera Company in Italy.
Aims:
Op.64_Solocanto produces Contemporary Opera as a living art form, able to deal with topics close to today’s public and to present itself as a vehicle for communication and culture. Since 2014 we organize an intensive summer project to involve young people in contemporary music and theatre.
A flagship project
OperaLab – a 3-week opera workshop that every year involve 50/60 children aged 8 to 18, singers from different European conservatoires, professionals singers and actors.
Why they’re RESEO members:
Because we believe in collaboration and Europe.
