Opera For The Whole Family
The Teatro Real Educational Program began exactly 11 years ago. It started under the initiative of, at the time artistic director, Emilio Sagi and it has continued its work over the years consolidated by the full support of authorities, institutions and the general public.
The Educational Program aims to introduce children and young people to the universe of music, meaning any performances involving music as the main theme, therefore including opera, dance, musical narratives, concerts, ateliers and puppet shows, in combination with technical aspects such as projections.
Aims:
To open opera and dance to children and families. Use music as a vehicle for learning and integration. Encourage the creativity of children and contribute values through stories and fables so they can build their own vision of the world.
A flagship project:
Dido and Eneas: A Hipster Tale
An adapted production of “Dido and Eneas” by Purcell. It was a special project for teenagers. We gave young singers the opportunity to participate in a new opera production and we worked with schools on the theme of bullying.
Why we’re members of RESEO:
It’s important for us to be in contact with other institutions (potential partners) dedicated to bringing music and opera to young audiences in order to share experiences and exchange methodologies and strategies.
