Wiener Staatsoper

Each season, Wiener Staatsoper features 350 performances of more than 60 different operas and ballets. Every night, you can see world-class artists perform alongside the permanent ensemble members, accompanied by the orchestra of Wiener Staatsoper, whose members make up the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Aims:

Alongside young audience performances, the Vienna State Opera offers creative engagement programmes fascinating schools and communities with opera and ballet in Vienna and beyond. Interdisciplinary participatory youth projects invite children to unleash their creativity and co-create meaningful work together! The Vienna State Opera’s outreach work is driven by curiosity and creative collaboration.

A flagship project:

#UTOPERA – OPERA AND BALLET LAB
#UTOPERA is a new community project series set up in the 10th district of Vienna. Together with artists from Wiener Staatsoper and Wiener Staatsballett and in collaboration with Superar and Tanz die Toleranz young people explore their visions of alternative futures through opera and dance leading to a final performance.
