Den Jyske Opera

A state-funded national touring opera company with around 60 permanent positions and the same number of short term artists and other freelancers, DNO’s aim is to bring the highest quality opera to everybody everywhere in Denmark in relevant ways.

Den Jyske Opera, whose name is internationally translated – The Danish National Opera – is situated in Aarhus, the second largest town in Denmark. Our role as a National Opera is to provide all of Denmark with opera on the highest level of artistic quality and accessibility. And we meet with this challenge by producing operas of all scales for an audience from as young as four-years-old.

The education department of DNO is an active and important player in the Danish world of art’s communication and cultural debate being involved in several important networks on a national level.

GrowOP! festival – international opera festival for young audiences – combining showcase, artistic laboratory, education & outreach across the region.
