Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival: Young Talent and Renowned International Artists

Operosa, founded in 2006 to promote dynamic opera talent in the Balkan region, organises the only opera festival in Montenegro each year in August. Performances take place in Kanli Kula and Forte Mare, two ​historical fortresses overlooking ​the ​Adriatic sea, as well as in the old town of Herceg Novi.

Operosa Montenegro Opera Festival (OMOF2017) brings together young, talented and​ renowned international opera artists. The exciting program includes​ several opera and classical music performances created and performed by artists, singers, ensembles and orchestras from the world over. The highlight of this year festival will be the Montenegrin premiere of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta. Last year’s Montenegrin premiere of Rossini’s La Cenerentola can be viewed here.

23rd of August 2017 at 21h – “Montenegrin Divas in Forte Mare”, Forte Mare Tower

24th of August 2017 at 21h – “Classical Moment in Old Town”

25th & 26th of August 2017 at 21h – “Iolanta”, Kanli Kula Amphitheater Opera by P. I. Tchaikovsky

27th of August 2017 at 21h – “Festival Closing Concert”, Kanli Kula Amphitheater

​The rehearsals for Iolanta will ​be held in Belgrade from 24 July to 16 August. They will be led ​by the artistic team with 22 singers from all over Europe. ​
