RESEO is pleased to support the fourth edition of the Carmen Mateu Young Artist European Award, Opera and Dance, awarded by the Fundació Castell de Peralada. This year’s edition focuses on artistic-educational opera projects aimed at teenage audiences.
The call is now open and will remain so until 10 July 2025 at 23:59 (GMT). Submissions must be made via carmenmateuaward.com.
The Carmen Mateu award recognises and supports the next generation of creators working at the intersection of opera and education. The selected project will receive a €40,000 commission for the development and premiere of a new educational opera, set to debut at the Peralada Festival in 2026. Projects should:
RESEO will participate in both the expert committee and the international jury that will review applications and select the winning proposal.
Who can apply?
Artists or collectives of up to 35 years of age, who are of European nationality or have developed their careers in a Council of Europe member state, are eligible to apply. Applications may be submitted individually or in groups (all group members must meet eligibility criteria).
