RESEO “Opera for Young Audiences” Award 2017

The Young Audience Music Awards (YAMawards) promote and honour creativity and innovation in the field of music for young audiences. RESEO, the European Network for Opera and Dance Education, is proud to announce the fourth edition of its “Opera for Young Audiences” Award.

The RESEO prize, aiming at promoting creation in the field of opera for young audiences, seeks to give the floor to this innovative genre, supporting the creation of new work (new libretto and/or composition). Productions shall be selected on the grounds of composition, libretto, process, theme/ content, staging and innovation. Productions for all age groups (birth to young adults) shall be taken into account.

Applications are now open for the 2017 YAMawards. Those involved in the creation of music-based productions aimed at young audiences (below the age of 18) can apply until the 1st of June 2017.

YAMawards are open to 3 distinct categories, each with their own winner:

On top of these accolades, cash prizes will be presented to the Production of the Year and the winner of the Public Choice Award (selected from the top 4 nominees in each category).

The winner of the RESEO Prize as well as other categories will be announced during this year’s YAM Session, hosted by Casa da Musica in Porto, Portugal on 4-6 September.
