La Monnaie/ De Munt

La Monnaie For Everyone

A place of encounter for subscribers, regulars or the simply curious, music lovers, students and teachers, singers and supporters of a bridge between two worlds, famous artists or rising stars, whatever your age and whoever you are, La Monnaie is open to all!

Aims:

You are not born an opera enthusiast, you become one! That’s why it’s important to give children and young people the opportunity to discover La Monnaie in a fun and affordable way.

A flagship project:

The community opera PUSH: ‘My life has been nothing but miracles…’, the Holocaust survivor and Brussels resident Simon Gronowski told Howard Moody after the premiere of Sindbad at La Monnaie. That encounter was the starting signal for Push, which is based on Gronowski’s story. In 1943, he was taken from the Dossin Barracks and put on a train for Auschwitz. Thanks to his mother, who pushed him off the train, he was able to escape. For this production, Moody once again brings together professional musicians and amateur performers – both adults and children – in a unique theatrical experience.

Why they are members of RESEO:

As a founding member, we want to continue to support the network as a place for reflection and exchange!
