Théâtre national de l’Opéra Comique

France

A national theatre since 2015, the Opéra Comique produces and presents work from the French repertoire, from baroque to contemporary creations and including works from the 19th century. To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to discover the theatre, the Opéra Comique has put in place an accessibility policy for all its activities as well as an advantageous pricing policy for young people, families and those on benefits, making up 15% of spectators. The cultural action teams carry out projects outside the theatre every year.

Aims

  • Bring the repertoire to life
  • Promote contemporary creation
  • Enable everyone to discover opera in its sung form, specific to the Opéra Comique: families, people with disabilities, young and old, lovers and loners, students without a budget and philanthropic patrons…
  • Supporting and training young talent

A flagship project

RELAX sessions for people with disabilities. These inclusive productions for all audiences are carried by a specially-trained team and artists. Audiences are alerted before and during the show and there is a rest area and exit possible at any time. Tickets cost 20 euros for adults and 10 euros for children.

Why they are members of RESEO

To learn, exchange and find out about projects being run elsewhere. To exchange ideas, failures and successes. To build common projects that can be hosted or run in different places. To identify resource persons to support new initiatives.
