Clare Guss-West and Konzert Theater Bern

Einstein, Richter’s Four Seasons and now the surreal paintings of Klee: members Konzert Theater Bern and Clare Guss-West commence a third collaboration of repertoire-inspired dance with seniors. More here.

Opéra de Lyon

Opéra de Lyon are organising a 2-day « Opéra et Expressions vocales » seminar around the theme of contemporary opera and its connexion to society. Lyon, 9-10 May. More info (in French).


Operasonic is running two schools projects this spring, both funded by Arts Council Wales Creative Learning Through the Arts Fund. Both projects are focusing on exploring school topics through opera creation. More here.

Holland Opera

Holland Opera is playing the youth opera Eendje Buitenbeentje (4+), an exciting adventure based on the music of Carnaval des Animaux. Tickets for Sunday the 14th of April are still available! More here.

Selfmade Music

June 19th 2019 8.00pm sees the premiere of Susannah Self’s new opera Analysis, which examines the life of an artist through the prism of Jungian analysis.

Festival d’Aix-en-Provence

Cie Minute Papillon

Tout Neuf, nominated for a Best Opera for Young Audiences YAMaward and staged over 200 times so far, will be in China in June 2019. For children aged 2 and up. More info here.

Òpera de Tenerife

Following auditions in Bologna, Tbilisi, Madrid and Tenerife, Ópera de Tenerife has revealed the names of the artists who will make up the double cast for Gaetano Donizetti‘s L’Elisir d’Amore, which will open the 2019-2020 season. Find out who they are here.


University of Memphis

Students in the Department of Theatre & Dance at theUniversity of Memphis will be able to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre with a concentration in Dance Science for the first time this autumn.

Opera Mint

Opera Mint continued a programme of radical vocal empowerment with a theatre show on 20th January. The programme included the launch of the GAK-in-the-box and the young rapper Samuel Mebrahtu. More info about Opera Mint here.


A new Opéra-Théâtre Junior production will be staged in April. Featuring teenagers between the ages of 12 and 15, the musical Rose & Rose tackles, in a fun and offbeat way, the sensitive subject of bullying. More info here (in French).
